Dear 6th Grade Parents:

Today we reviewed, in broad strokes, aspects of the 6 Day War and the Yom Kippur War. We spent some time looking more closely at maps of the expansion of the pre-war Yishuv, the partition plan of 1947, post-independence Israel and post-1967 borders. I tried to give the students a sense of where exactly the West Bank (call it what you will) is and why it is often in the news. We also discussed the first half of the chapter on the Israeli Arabs and Palestinians.
