You will find some brief info about our day below. Topic of the day: Rosh HaShanah

Goals:

  • to review material from the previous class:

  • the vocabulary and symbols of the holiday, RoshHaShanah:

  • Rosh HaShanah- New Year ( Head of the Year) ,

  • Tapuchim- Apples,

  • Dvash – Honey,

  • Shofar - Shofar - (a horn that we blow on High Holy Days),

  • pomegranate – rimon (seeds inside symbolize the 613 commandments in the Torah),

  • Shanah Tovah! –Happy New Year! (greeting for Rosh Hashanah).

  • to have a discussion: What kind of present would I give to the world for its birthday?

Story: Even Higher, Rosh HaShanah story, by Eric A.Kimmel, Jill Weber. Project: Decorating Shofar and making Apple/ Honey Holder for Rosh Hashanah.
