6th Grade 3/2/14

The 6th grade class has finished the War of Independence. Today we discussed the period after Israel's costly victory when diaspora Jews from all over Europe, Africa, and the Arab world rushed to Israel and doubled the population of the fledgling nation. We also learned about the Seven Species and ate two of them.

Please remind your son or daughter that they should bring something Israel-related to show and tell next week, or they can bring a question for discussion.For example, here's the question that I'm going to bring: "What happened to the Jewish community that was transplanted from Yemen to Israel as part of Operation Flying Carpet? Did they stick together? Did they assimilate? How were they treated?"
